Description
Helvetia was created not only from diplomatic relations, but also out of war. There is no longer bloodshed amongst the people of Helvetia, though, as they now prefer to express their rivalry another way. They do it by way of a new sport: the Helvetia Cup.
HELVETIA Cup is a game of simulation football that blends tactical skill, strategy and luck and is set in a fantasy world, with each player acting as a coach in epic games and titanic championships. HELVETIA Cup has both a family version and a geek version.
Short rules description
- In Helvetia Cup two fantasy teams compete against each other
- You play the coach of a soccer team composed of 9 players. For each game you choose 1 goalkeeper, 4 players and 2 substitutes.
- Each player is defined by its abilities, as for example dribble, shoot, tackling, pressure, clearance
Each turn you can move all your players. One hexagon movement is free, if you want to move more you need to spend boost. If a player has no more boost then all its abilities are divided by two.
- After the movement the defender has player in the same hex as the ball, he could try some actions as for example to steal the ball or tacle. If the offense as still the ball he can try a shoot or a pass.
Each team is composed of 9 players. Before each game, the coach chooses 1 goalkeeper, 4 players and 2 substitutes. Each player is defined by three groups of skills : defense, offense and endurance.
A round consists of two phases.
1. Moves: Each team moves all players. The first hexagon movement is free for each player, if he wants to move more, he need to spend boosts. If a player has no boost anymore then all its skills are divided by two.
2. Actions: if a player from the defensive team is in the same hexagon that the player with the ball, he can try to steal the ball, to tackle or to put pressure. If the attacking player has still the possession of the ball, he can make passes or shoot. Most of these actions require to throw a dice, if the result is smaller or equal to the relative skill the action is successful.Even though the single matches already offer a good amount of excitement, cups and championships offer the ultimate challenge. Throughout these competitions, coaches will have to show their skill by managing not only tactic and strategy during matches, but also injury, yellow/red cards and team training.
The game comes with 18 high-quality painted figurines.
